Entertaining Ways To Celebrate at Home This Valentines

by | Travel

Whether you are single or in a relationship, the 14th of February is a great day to celebrate love and friendship. Although you can pick any day of the year to express admiration for your dear ones, the day of hearts provides a great excuse to be affectionate or sentimental.

A candlelight dinner in a fancy restaurant or a short trip to a breathtaking destination, these are just a few ways you can choose to celebrate it. These may not be the best options for you this year as the pandemic still limits our actions and activities. Still, that is no reason to make Valentine’s day of 2021 a dull one for you. Here are some cool ways to ensure a happy Valentine’s right in the comfort of your own home:

Have a rom-com marathon.

Spread the love in the air with the help of some feel-good romantic movies. You can make it more special by setting up a mini-movie theater at home. A projector or a large TV screen plus some popcorn and soda can help you achieve the vibe. You can make a list of great rom-coms and then try to watch as many as you can on that day.

Celebrate with good food and fun games.

Treat yourself and your dear ones with appetizing dishes.  You can order ready-to-eat meals or prepare them yourself. It can be a recipe you just discovered or recreate a replica of a dish you always order at your favorite restaurant. After the meal, you can entertain yourselves by playing some indoor games. You can make the mood even more festive by providing some cool prizes for the winners.

Bring the fun outdoors.

You don’t have to go far to enjoy the outdoors. It can just be your backyard/patio/balcony and your creative imagination. You can have a barbecue party or outdoor picnic and stretch the fun until night-time by setting up a mini -camp. It may be a cool idea to just relax and gaze at the stars on a lovely night.

Write some love letters.

Valentine’s Day is a good time to express your feelings. If you want another way to do it rather than vocalizing it, you can bring out the poet and wordsmith in you. Express your thoughts in a letter and surprise your loved ones by giving it to them personally or sending it through digital channels. Of course, you can also resort to traditional snail mail and you may also want to include small gifts along with your letter.

Have some art activities.

For an enjoyable Valentine this year, you may want to explore something creative.  Parents with young kids at home can have a fun card-making activity. You can also transform your house into a Valentine hub by decorating it with hearts or balloons. A costume party made from art materials will also be a great way to bond with loved ones.

Valentine’s Day is just around the corner and it would not hurt to think of ways to make it a special event. Because the current pandemic may have changed many things, including the way we celebrate occasions, it cannot conquer our desire to make merry memories.
