Extra Measures To Stay Virus-Free While You Travel

by | Adventure, Travel

It has been more than a year since the pandemic was announced. Still, even with vaccines already available, the threat of Covid-19 is still very much present. New variants of the virus that are reported to be more infectious serve as a reminder that we cannot let our guard down yet. We need to continue following measures to keep diseases away and one of the best ways to do that is to stay home. Still, there are times when it becomes necessary for you to go out and travel. During this time, it is important to do all necessary measures to stay virus-free. You may even want to be extra careful by doing the following tips:

Wear a double mask.

In times like this, you can never be too careful. Equip yourself with an extra layer of protection by wearing a double mask. Experts say that if done properly, double masking can potentially keep the virus at bay. You can watch this helpful video that demonstrates how to wear it properly.

Set up a sanitation area.

Make sure you are not unintentionally contaminating your home by setting up a small sanitation area near your doorstep. It can be a small area where you can wash your hands and cleanse yourself from your travels. It is also good if you have a trash bin to dispose of your masks or gloves before you enter home.

Choose a contactless payment method.

There are no studies saying that the virus can be passed through coins and bills. Still, cashless transactions may still be a better option when paying for services and fees especially when you are out of the home. Aside from being convenient, you lessen the things that pass through your hands, minimizing your risk of contracting the virus.

Place phones in a resealable plastic.

If you can, it is best to minimize using your phones while out of the house. But with smartphones quick becoming a commodity; there may be many instances when you would need to use it even while traveling. A simple remedy you can do is putting your phone in a resealable plastic. Once home, you can throw away the plastic and disinfect your phones.

Pack your own food and water.

Even if you are traveling, do not forget that we are still in a pandemic. Which means, wandering around aimlessly isn’t advisable at this time. Thus, it is best that you pack your own meals and drinks in a disposable container. Aside from being healthier and cheaper, you also save precious time.

It is so easy to be lax about health protocols especially when you are out and about. However, if everyone will make an extra effort to stay safe, we may soon leave covid-19 worries behind and enjoy normal travel again.
